Amy Schumer Drops Out Of Live-Action 'Barbie' Movie
The comedian, who took her share of criticism after accepting the role, says she won't be able to do the movie after all because of scheduling conflicts. "Sadly, I'm no longer able to commit to Barbie due to scheduling conflicts," Schumer said in a statement. "The film has so much promise, and Sony and Mattel have been great partners. I'm bummed, but look forward to seeing Barbie on the big screen." Schumer recently became attached to Rebecca Miller's 'She Came to Me' with Steve Carell. However, it's believed that her promotional appearances for comedy 'Snatched' is what will interfere with filming for the movie about the iconic doll. With Mattel planning to release a ton of merchandising, including dolls, specifically around the Barbie movie, delaying the June 29, 2018 release wasn't an option. The film would have seen Schumer's character expelled from the land of "perfect" Barbie women, with the eventual realization that it's more important to be real than fit into an existing mold of beauty. Amy Schumer has left the live-action 'Barbie' movie.
