Amanda Bynes Announces Retirement From Acting at 24

Amanda Bynes is done acting, the 24-year-old star has announced.

"Being an actress isn't as fun as it may seem," Bynes says on Twitter. "I've never written the movies & tv shows I've been apart of, I've only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play."

"If I don't love something anymore I stop doing it. I don't love acting anymore so I've stopped doing it."

"I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first," she writes. "I've retired."

Bynes is best known for her Nickelodeon's sketch comedy shows 'All That', 'The Amanda Show' and starring Jennie Garth on the 'What I like About You'.

She also appeared in a handful of big screen features including 'She's The Man' and 'Hairspray'.

Bynes was named one of Teen People's '25 Hottest Stars Under 25' in 2006, and made a Forbes list as the 5th highest paid celebrity under 21 in 2007, earning $2.5 million, so she's got plenty in the bank.
