Alanis Morissette's Manager Admits To Stealing $4.8M From Singer

Alanis Morissette's former business manager has admitted to stealing more than $4.8 million from the singer.

Jonathan Todd Schwartz has admitted to embezzling more than $7 million from the singer and other celebrities as he pleads guilty to federal charges.

Morissette didn't even realize the money was missing until she changed managers and the new firm discovered millions of dollars were missing.

He stole the funds between May 2010 and January 2014 and used the money for his lavish lifestyle. Although, when confronted by investigators, he lied and said it was because he invested it an illegal marijuana growing business.

The 48-year-old has been charged with wire fraud and filing a false tax return that didn't include the embezzled money.

Although he could be serving up to two decades, he is likely to receive a sentence of between four and six years in federal prison.
