Actress Brittany Murphy Dead at 32

Actress Brittany Murphy is dead, after apparently going into cardiac arrest at her home overlooking the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.

Murphy's mother discovered her unconscious in a shower, and at about 8 AM her husband, Simon Monjack, called 911 to report that she was not breathing, according to early reports.

The actress was pronounced dead on arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Spokeswoman Sally Stewart says Murphy died at 10:04 AM local time.

Murphy had starred in 'Clueless', 'Just Married', '8 Mile', 'Girl Interrupted', and was the voice of Luanne Platter in long-running animated series 'King Of The Hill'.

She is due to appear in Sylvester Stallone's upcoming 'The Expendables', set for release next year.

At one time she dated Ashton Kutcher, who co-starred with her in the 2003 romantic comedy 'Just Married'.

"Today the world lost a little piece of sunshine," Kutcher tweeted Sunday about Murphy's death. "My deepest condolences go out two Brittany's family, her husband and her amazing mother Sharon."
