ABC Lands New Matthew Perry Single Camera Comedy

ABC has landed a new single camera comedy project with 'Friends' alum Matthew Perry.

Perry is set to star in, co-write and executive produce the as yet untitled project. The actor, who turned 40 in August, will play the manager of a second-rate sports arena who begins to re-evaluate his life on his 40th birthday.

Courteney Cox already headlines the network’s 'Cougar Town' so Perry will be the second 'Friends' star to land on ABC.

Matt LeBlanc, who played his best friend Joey on the show, also recently signed on to star in a new series called 'Episodes', in a joint venture between Showtime and BBC.

Because of the way the deal is structured after the heated bidding war which ensued between ABC and NBC over the series, it almost guarantees that the comedy will be picked up by the network.

Perry most recently appeared on the big screen in Zac Efron's '17 Again'.
