ABC Developing Live-Action Incredible Hulk Series

The Incredible Hulk may be heading back to television.

ABC is developing a live-action series based around the comic superhero in partnership with Marvel.

The project is part of a push from Marvel to enter the TV arena, after a successful entry into movies, with some of its most popular comic heroes.

CBS produced a series featuring the green hero that ran from 1978-82, starring Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno.

There is no writer or showrunner on board yet with a search underway. However, Guillermo del Toro and 'Battlestar Galactica' producer David Eick are both said to have pitched their take.

On the big screen, the Hulk has been portrayed by Eric Bana and Edward Norton in the last few years. In the upcoming 'The Avengers' movie, it will be played by Mark Ruffalo and now if the series is green-lighted we'll have a fourth actor very soon.

Warner Bros. TV and DC Comics are developing their own superhero series for the small screen with Wonder Woman, from 'The Practice' creator David E. Kelley, for next season.
