'24: Live Another Day' To Begin In London Four Years Later

When '24' returns next year, Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer won't just be saving the United States of America, he may be saving the world.

Fox has revealed that the 12-episode run will be set in Europe and specifically begin in London.

"24 has always had such a global sensibility, but to be able to tell this intense 24-style story with the beauty of Europe's history and architecture as the backdrop is going to be fascinating," says Sutherland.

"Hopefully, by the time you're finished watching an episode, you'll feel like you've been there... on the edge of your seat."

Co-showrunner and executive producer Evan Katz adds: "We wanted the show's return to be an event, and part of that was putting Jack in a very different context."

"Four years ago, we left Jack a fugitive from justice and we're going to pick him up four years later in London."

Mary Lynn Rajskub has already signed on to reprise her role but the show's return will see the drama run 12 real-time episodes, instead of the usual 24. It's slated to air in May 2014.
